Diane Farrell Mauch presented a lecture on the immensely popular opera Il Trovatore by composer Giuseppe Verdi, which was based on a drama written by Antonio Carcía Gutiérrez, and first performed in Rome in 1853. Diane is the president of the Opera/Ballet Club and her credentials include a varied performance career in opera, concert and musical theater. She taught voice and opera theater for many years, most recently at the University of Miami in Coral Gables. Mauch has written extensively on vocal technique and vocal literature and currently presents lectures on all aspects of opera in the Bay Area.
