The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (ConFire) hosts a kickoff ceremony to celebrate a $3.1 million grant obtained in June 2022 by ConFire from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CalFire) to create shaded fuel break, which will remove excess dry vegetation from a strip of land above the valley encircling about 85% of Rossmoor.
