Rossmoor Counseling Services hosts Brian O'Toole, Esq. as part of its Optimal Wellness Lecture series to discuss Medi-Cal Benefits and Eligibility. Medi-Cal, asl known as Medicaid outside of California, is the only health insurance program that can help pay for long-term skilled nursing care. According to O'Toole, recent changes in the law have made Medi-Cal more accessible by eliminating the asset limit and many Rossmoor residents mistakenly believe they would not qualify. O'Toole is particularly experienced in creating strategies to protect assets from the overwhelming costs associated with skilled nursing home care.
