Old and New World traditions meld in "Cool Yule: A Nordic Holiday Celebration" featuring two-time Grammy Award winning Danish violinist Mads Tolling. The wonderful Christmas traditions of the Nordic countries - Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland - are steeped in mysticism, with many of these traditions at home here in America. In the spirit of Yule, Tolling shares the Christmas celebrations of his youth in Copenhagen, blending the authentic customs and sounds of the Nordic countries with the joy and spirit of American Jazz. The concert includes classics like "Santa Baby" and "The Christmas Song" as well as Mads Tolling originals and a very special arrangement of "Let It Go" from Disney's hit-movie Frozen. Mads Tolling leads an all-star band including; Gary Brown on bass, Eric Garland on drums and Colin Hogan on piano/accordion. (2024)
